Location: Riga, Latvia
Patrick Richards, Director & Co-founder of TerraVerde Sustainability was delighted to be asked to take part in this years Baltic Sea Region Tourism Forum. Here’s what he had to say about the event:
“It was a privilege to participate on the sustainability panel at last week’s, “Baltic Sea Region Tourism Forum” in Riga Latvia. The discussion was animated and very much focussed on how DMO’s and private sector (tour operators and DMC’s) can take practical action to make a contribution to the sustainability of their corners of the world. Thanks to my fellow panellists Annu Huotari, Jeppe Klockareson, Aldis Kušķis, Rolands Ratfelders for bringing their expertise and passion to the conversation. The whole event was expertly put together by Linda Ziedina-Ergle, Inguna Zigure and their team at the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), as well as Andy Fairburn (expert moderation on our session) and Paul Wagner from NORDIC TOURISM COLLECTIVE. With more customers looking for cooler, greener destinations, Latvia and the Baltics neighbours of Estonia and Lithuania make great options.”
